Covid-19 had an immediate impact on Construction through the closure of sites and application of social distancing rules. The ongoing impact concerns both the practical implications affecting materials, labour and timing and the pipeline implications of demand for construction work.

Commercial & Retail had already started 2020 with low output, this has only slowed due to Covid-19.

Education construction has seen a short-term reduction in output where almost all education facilities have closed or are running on a skeleton staffing.

Hotel, leisure and sport may possibly be the worst hit by the pandemic with consumer habits changing drastically within such a short space of time.

Industrial output has remained relatively buoyant however it is not immune to the effects of Covid-19 and is currently predicting a decline in output.

Infrastructure was originally predicted to grow throughout 2020 however this has now been amended to show a decrease due to the pandemic.

Healthcare is unsurprisingly the most unaffected by the pandemic and is currently the sector with the highest output.

Residential is the worst affected by the pandemic.
